Life Membership for Meady

John Mead was belatedly awarded Life Membership at Monday’s AGM.

Many will know that John was volunteering for Blaze-Aid in far north Queensland when the award was decided last year and shortly after that he suffered a severe stroke which laid him low for many months. In presenting the award, John Temple praised John’s massive contribution to the Club over 30 years and highlighted some of the key roles he performed such as Maintenance Manager, Committee Member, Bar Manager, Cleaner, Tennis Convenor and Hall Hire Manager. He was always first in for working bees no matter whether to resurface courts, maintain gardens or for special projects. John is our 12th Life Member and absolutely deserving of this recognition and award.
